For at least 20 years, I’ve enjoyed working using two computer monitors. Two monitors saves you a lot of time, reduces the need to print so much, and makes it easier to be accurate.
With QuickBooks Online, I felt limited in being able to use my second monitor. It was a challenge to use multiple windows with QBO. If you used two different browsers (Chrome and Edge), then it seemed to work, but that feels like a last resort. Usually I would just print before taking that step.
That’s when I saw in a recent announcement something about the QuickBooks Online Desktop App allowing for Split Screen. In the video, I show exactly how to do this. Long story short, Split Screen in the Desktop App works well if you only have one monitor.
While creating the video, I stumbled upon another solution that works perfect for those of us with two monitors. If you are using the Desktop App, you’ve figured out how to open multiple tabs. Multiple tabs is a big help, but still doesn’t solve my problem. Instead of opening a new tab, there is an option to open a New Window. The new window can then be dragged over to the second monitor. Voila!
