
The IRS is the most feared institution on earth. Even churches, which have minimal interaction with the IRS, are usually very afraid of getting on the IRS’s bad side and losing their 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Should they be afraid?

This is the very first year that there will be churches planning their budgets and related compensation plans as Global Methodist churches. Last week I looked into pension benefits. This week I’m looking into health insurance benefits to hopefully help future Global Methodist churches and their pastors.

Churches put a lot of energy and time into preparing for their charge conference vote on whether or not to leave the UMC. But it’s way too early to think the work is done. There is a boatload of legal and administrative work that needs to happen. I’ll go you an overview with plenty of links and resources in this post.
