How to navigate Windows when you have too much open

If you work on a computer most of the day like I do, there are some things that can be kind of a pain. They are just things that you do too often and take just a little too much work for what it’s worth. Here are the two I cover in the video.

Finding the Window you Need

Alt + Tab or Windows + Tab: When you hold down the Alt key and press the Tab key, you can see everything you have open. If you have three spreadsheets and QuickBooks and email and your Google Chrome open, you’ll see little miniatures of everything. While still holding Alt down, you can either Tab to the window you want or just click on it.

Windows + Tab does just about the same thing but shows you what is open on each monitor.

Quickly moving a Window to the Other Monitor

Windows + Shift + Left or Right Arrow: When you hold down the Windows key and the Shift key and then press either the Left or Right Arrow key, whatever window you have selected moves to the other monitor.

I use this mostly if I’m working on email and see something I need to record before I archive or delete the email. Since I prefer to work on the right monitor, I will move my email to the other monitor so I can still see the email. Then I can easily enter the information in QuickBooks or a spreadsheet.
